Matwork classes take place at several venues in and around Market Harborough (see timetable). The classes are small with only 8-10 people per class so there's plenty of opportunity for hands-on adjustment.

I am a certified Body Control Pilates® instructor. The beauty of the Body Control Pilates approach is that, even in a class, we modify exercises according to what people need and how their bodies may be feeling that particular day, so you can work at your own pace and loading. We are very focused on technique and the small group class means that you get plenty of individual attention and correction.

You need to bring your own mat with you to class and maybe other small equipment such as a resistance band and head cushions if you have them. We wear comfortable clothing such as leggings or jogging bottoms and trainers are not required as we work in socks/barefoot.

The classes run in blocks of typically 6-8 weeks and payment is due in advance of the start of the block in order to reserve your space. Classes work out at £10 each.

You are very welcome to come along and try the class to see if it's what you are looking for (though pre-booking is essential!). You can then either pay the class as a one off or sign up for the rest of the block.

If you are interested in joining a class, please call or email me and I can send you an enrolment form!

The Pilates reformer is a resistance based piece of equipment used to perform a variety of Pilates exercises. It is a rectangular wooden frame with a carriage on runners that slides along, attached at one end by a series of springs which can be altered depending on the level of resistance required. It also uses straps & pulleys and the exercises can be done lying down, seated, or standing. Sometimes you are pulling the carriage, sometimes pushing, sometimes the aim is to keep the carriage still.

The reformer is versatile and effective for either working out using varying levels of challenge (for example having less of the body on the carriage is one of the ways of making exercises harder) or it can be used to help rehabilitate the body after injury as you can work on alignment and control in the body, using less resistance than would be provided if you were using your own bodyweight. Furthermore working against the resistance of the apparatus increases your understanding of how your body is positioned for the movements and helps with your centring.

I teach reformer studio sessions as one to one sessions from a small home studio and sessions are organised at a mutually convenient time. They cost £45 for an hour's session.

If you are interested in joining a class or arranging a reformer studio session, please drop me an email, or give me a call to discuss. I'd love to hear from you!

Relaxed Yet Professional

"Louise has a relaxed yet professional and accurate teaching style, she gently corrects and is always quick to offer modifications. I especially love how she puts the emphasis on body awareness, thinking about how you feel and move, and not on how you look"

Very Capable & Committed

"In short Louise is a very capable and committed Pilates teacher whose overwhelming USP is competence coupled with consideration and care"

Patient & Welcoming

"I started Pilates classes with Louise about 2 years ago and have definitely noticed a vast improvement in my body strength, balance and wellbeing. Louise is a brilliant teacher, who’s very patient and welcoming, and there’s no pressure in class so I can work at a pace that suits my body."

Spring in my Step

"I feel that you tailor the class to the needs of each individual. I am learning so much about how my body works, my posture, and those muscles in my body I under or over use. I always leave the class with a spring in my step ready to face the challenges of the day!"

Welcomes Everyone

"After having back pain for years and too scared to try a class on my own. I went along to one of Louise 's classes and never looked back. She makes the classes relaxed and welcomes everyone no matter their ability."
